Halle Tecco is an angel investor, startup advisor, co-founder of Techammer, and an adjunct professor in decision, risk, and operations at Columbia Business School. Tecco co-founded the digital health startup accelerator Rock Health, where she served as CEO until May 2016. She is also an advisor to the Harvard Medical School Department of Biomedical Informatics and Boston Children's Hospital.
Tecco has given talks at the Aspen Ideas Festival, CES, TechCrunch Disrupt, WIRED Life, MIT Emtech, among others, and was a SXSW 2016 Keynote. She has also been a guest lecturer at Cornell University, Harvard University, Parsons, Stanford University, University of California, San Francisco, Wharton, and Yale University.
"We really haven't created ways for people outside of healthcare to come into healthcare,” Tecco said in an interview with TechRepublic on creating more space in healthcare for innovation. “There's a big focus on becoming a doctor, but healthcare is a system that takes all kinds of thinkers — designers, economists, business [people], everyone has something they can contribute to helping our healthcare system to improve.”
Tecco was named as one of CNN’s 12 Entrepreneurs Reinventing Healthcare (2012), Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs (2013), the San Francisco Chronicle’s Most Powerful Women in Technology (2014), and she was listed on the Forbes’ 30 under 30 (2013) list.
