Michael Fredericson, M.D., is Professor and Director of PM&R Sports Medicine in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at Stanford University. He is the Founder of the Stanford Lifestyle Medicine Program and Co-Director of the Stanford Center on Longevity.
Dr. Fredericson has published over 240 peer-reviewed articles, 40 book chapters, and five books on topics related to injury prevention and longevity medicine. He has been a featured speaker at numerous national and international symposiums and is frequently interviewed in the national media for his expertise. He is a former member of the Editorial Board of Physician and Sports Medicine, Runner’s World magazine, Associate Editor for the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine, and Senior Founding Editor for the PM&R Journal. He is currently on the Board of Trustees for the Association of Academic Physiatrists and is a frequent contributor to the Scientific Advisory Board of Men’s Health magazine.
Dr. Fredericson is the Founding Program Director of the Stanford Non-Operative Sports Medicine Fellowship and has received various awards for his efforts to develop and foster musculoskeletal education and research for medical students, residents, fellows, and postdoctoral scholars.
