Cofactor is an advanced 4-in-1 collagen support system that combines: collagen peptides, which provide the stimulus and the building blocks for collagen; nicotinamide riboside, a clinically proven NAD+ booster, to help improve the health and function of the cells that use these building blocks to produce collagen; hyaluronic acid to improve skin hydration and elasticity; and vitamin C, essential for collagen synthesis.

Youthful skin requires collagen and NAD+, which both decline starting in our 20s. NAD+ decline—a hallmark feature of aging, is associated with a decline in cellular health and function, resulting in reduced collagen production. Cofactor uniquely combines collagen peptides with nicotinamide riboside (NR), a precursor that’s clinically proven to boost NAD+, to create an optimal environment for sustained collagen production.

Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a major component of the skin and plays a critical role in maintaining skin hydration. As we age, our skin produces less HA, contributing to decreased hydration, plumpness, and impaired barrier function. Clinical studies show that oral supplementation with HA increases whole-body skin moisture content throughout the layers of the skin, improves skin barrier function, and increases skin elasticity.

While individual results may vary, clinical studies suggest benefits starting around 3 weeks with increased skin hydration. Improvements in skin elasticity have been demonstrated at 2 months and a reduction in wrinkles and improvements in skin texture by 4 months. Hair and nail benefits have been reported at 6 months. Cofactor is unflavored with minimal taste and aftertaste.

We recommend dissolving Cofactor in liquids (like smoothies, protein shakes, juices, coffee or tea, or water) and foods (like yogurt, or overnight oats). Unlike conventional collagen supplements, Cofactor contains nicotinamide riboside, which is sensitive to prolonged exposure to high temperatures. Therefore, Cofactor dissolved in hot beverages should be consumed within 30 minutes. One serving a day is all you need.

Yes, you can combine Cofactor with Basis and/or Signal. Cofactor, Basis, and Signal each contain 250 mg of an NAD+ precursor. Clinical studies have demonstrated that daily supplementation with up to 2,000 mg of nicotinamide riboside (the NAD+ precursor in Cofactor and Basis) or 1,000 mg of nicotinamide mononucleotide (the NAD+ precursor in Signal) in healthy individuals is safe and well tolerated. Taking Basis and/or Signal can help support additional cellular processes not provided by ingredients in Cofactor—Basis contains pterostilbene (a SIRT1 activator) to support DNA maintenance, while Signal contains the SIRT3 Activation Complex, which supports mitochondrial health.
